Board Unconscious Bias Training (Option 2)

When:  Aug 20, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM (PT)
Associated with  Joint Boards

Joint training with OHSU, OHSU Foundation and Doernbecher Foundation Boards

The four-hour training will discuss the science and research of unconscious bias and help you become aware of your own biases and its impact on how you interact with students, coworkers and patients. You’ll also learn new strategies for practicing more awareness and develop action steps.

The training places emphasis on learning more effective ways to enhance individual knowledge as well as team practice and functionality. We believe this campus-wide initiative will contribute positively across all mission areas. Building on shared learning experiences, intact teams or “intact groups” will improve understanding of unconscious bias, reflect upon solutions, establish a common language and begin to envision practices to help promote culture change. This will be an active experience. Participants will be introduced to concepts, theories, and skill development through the use of a variety of learning techniques. This session has been constructed to maximize opportunities for intact teams to strengthen diversity and inclusion beyond the training session.
